You can’t write titles like that!

In order to write this article, I searched through all issues of the Sofit magazine. From them I chose examples of headlines that are worthy of your attention.

Recently I wrote an article “Forms, requirements and qualities of good headlines”, now I will give examples of successful headlines.

    1. Play on words

SALE or Caught who bites SALE (March 2012)

In principle, you can guess that the article is about sales, as well as what tricks marketers use to hold such events.

    This is ethno (November 2011)

An article about ethno style in fashion. Short and capacious title.

    Lipstick (October 2011)

Material about lipsticks (including the topic of their influence on the condition of the skin of the lips).

SPAsti at any cost (April 2011)

An article about the benefits and contraindications of SPA procedures.

    2. Rhymed title

    New Year’s Maker (December 2011/January 2012)

An article about what to wear on New Year’s Eve.

Summer breeze – fashion whim (June 2011)

New fashion trends for swimwear in the upcoming summer season

    Ovation for Innovation (November 2011)

Article about nanotechnologies in cosmetology. Also an example of a positive example in the title.

    3. Briefly stated fact underlying the material.

Electric “PIVO” by phone call (December 2011/January 2012)

A report from the motor show, which took place on November 30 in Tokyo. The slogan of the event was “Mobility can change the world”, and “PIVO” is a smart car concept capable of parking or recharging batteries on a call from a mobile phone.

The title is also notable for the fact that the Slav “catches” such a word as “PIVO”, I want to know what it has to do with an article about a car.

    4. The essence of the material

    Sunfly (June 2011)

Material about an aircraft that runs exclusively on solar batteries.

A simple, clear title on the one hand, on the other hand, is a neologism that is unusual for readers and, again, I want to know what this word means.

    5. Retelling

He&She is one Satan (April 2011)

An article about the style of “unisex” in clothing.

The first thing that comes to mind when you read the title is the famous saying “Husband and wife are one Satan”, only here it has undergone changes, i.e. the author “retold” it, while the semantic associations remain with us. The second remark is again a rhyming title.

The garden that lives on the roof.

    Roof top landscaping article

Another example of retelling. We all know and have seen the cartoon “Carlson, who lives on the roof” and when you read the title, you involuntarily blur in a smile of tenderness.

    6. Quotes (as well as proverbs, phraseological units, etc.)

Time to scatter stones (October 2011)

An article about rockeries, or landscape design using stones.

Accurate quote from the Bible (Eccl. 3:1-8). I think the title is intriguing.

    Total:

Many examples of headings meet far more than one quality requirement, i.e. they are short, simple, specific, but at the same time extraordinary and intriguing. Imbued with involuntary respect for the authors who came up with such headlines.

P.S. I would like to see your examples of headings in the comments.
